Heirloom Skies

 

losing pieces—locating fragments, wildfires, aborted skies, swimming through sludge;

 

hell hounds, fraught by self-annihilation, eyes moist with sulfur,

holy ashtrays,

 

relic paths, carnal grails.

 

complete sunrise morning—

tarantula night eyes, woods filled with ants: gnats,

 

dragonflies, tarsiers and lemurs.

 

more boundaries—in sinning legacy, chords higher in spaces,

 

traumatized, attending choir.

 

many legged miracle; enchiladas for breakfast; soft cherry wine like water;

 

tales told, sold for earnest, combined with existence; lawyers at bars, higher vocals, lower decimals.

 

in racing signs, symbols, luxuries—by stars drinking sunshine, meant for one falling;

 

most terrific grace, most confused excellence,
